1974-1978 Regional motocross racer in Ohio 

1983/’84 Raced MX in Salt Lake City during college 

1985 – ’95 Roadraced while working at Motorcyclist Magazine; best national-level finishes were three wins as part of Team Vance & Hines at the WERA 24-hour West at Willow Springs in ’86, ’87 and ’88. Placed 13th in 750 Supersport at Daytona in ’89, 13th again in 600 Supersport at Daytona in ’90 

1995 to 2009 Began vintage roadracing and motocross, racking up numerous wins at various events in the U.S and in the U.K.
