August 26 - Lee Update

Finally another condition report. Sorry for such a long gap but I just didn't have any new information until today August 26. I had an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon to check the healing progress of my tibia and fibula. Unfortunately the x-rays didn't show any change from the last orthopedic visit 7 weeks ago. I have been scheduled for my next surgery on Monday September 8 to do some bone graph work on my tibia. He will take some bone material from my hip and combine it with Bone Morphogenic Protein (BMP) and use this to fill in where necessary. Hopefully this will give my tibia a jump start to initiate healing. He may also align my fibula and add a plate to secure it. The plate and screws already supporting my tibia will be left in place. It will take 6 to 8 weeks to know if the bone graph took. Hopefully this will be the last surgery. Once again, I will keep everyone posted as I learn more.
