Road Atlanta’s 2.54-mile Grand Prix road course
features 12 challenging turns, including the famous “esses” and
the tricky Turn 10 complex.
Not only has Kevin Schwantz ridden innumerable laps
around the rolling 12-turn road course, set in the hills
outside of Braselton, GA, but as part of the curriculum
he takes his students on a walking tour of the track
so they can learn the nuances of the track that aren’t visible
from the seat of one of the school’s Suzukis.
"The main thing about
Road Atlanta is the exit of turn one, and the turns
two, three and four combination, and, at the other
end of the track, the turn’s 10A and 10B, and
11 and 12 combinations." —KS
