Hello Everyone,
Thanks to everyone for the prayers and well wishes, emails and cards. I am home now recovering from surgery #5. Everything is going as well as can be expected right now. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow, Thursday 7/3, to follow up on the last surgery. They did what is called a free flap procedure on Friday June 20. A brief description is they took my right side abdominal muscles and put them over the opening in my leg where they previously removed some bad tissue. The week after the surgery definitely was not a lot of fun but I am feeling better as the days pass. I think right now boredom is my biggest enemy. I'm not used to being confined to the house with my leg elevated at all times. It could always be worse. I will try to keep everyone posted on my progress. The doctors are expecting at least one more soft tissue surgery and maybe another orthopedic surgery in the next few months. We will have to wait and see what they say. Thanks again for everyone thinking of me and praying for me. This will pass, it’s just going to take a little time.
